Living on a septic system or reusing greywater changes what you can safely put down the drain. Here are the questions we're asked most about detergent sheets, with straight answers.
Are DSSLV sheets septic safe?
Yes. Our laundry, dishwasher and multi-purpose formulas are independently tested to OECD 301, the international standard for ready biodegradability, and the sheets dissolve completely, with no plastic film left to accumulate in your tank. The formula is free from optical brighteners and dyes, which are common irritants for septic bacteria. Laundry sheets and dishwasher sheets are both safe for septic and greywater systems. What about greywater on the garden?
Greywater reuse depends on your whole setup, but the sheet itself leaves no plastic behind and the surfactant load is low compared with heavily dosed liquid washes. As with any detergent, rotate where greywater lands and keep it off edible leaves.
Do they dissolve in cold water?
Completely. Cold, warm or hot, front loader or top loader, including high-efficiency machines. If you wash on cold eco cycles to save power, sheets won't leave flakes the way some powders do.
What's actually in them?
Water, cleaning surfactants, a protease enzyme for protein stains, water softeners (sodium citrate and citric acid), kaolin clay for the sheet's body, glycerin, saponins from soapberries, a preservative, and fragrance in Lavender Bliss only. Are they okay for sensitive skin?

How many loads do I really get?
Every sheet is good for up to two loads: half a sheet for a standard ~5kg load, a full sheet for large 8kg+ or heavily soiled loads. A 40-sheet pack covers up to 80 loads. If your household churns through washing, build a bigger pack: any 6 or more packs save 30%, automatically.
